Zoomars!!!!

Every Wednesday Landon and I go to "school". Well it's Mommy & Me Class and we love it! This week we had a field trip to Zoomars in San Juan Capistrano. It's a petting zoo. Landon got to ride the train, pet and feed animals and ride a pony. But Landon didn't ride a pony, he got to ride the BIGGEST horse there!! And he did GREAT! At first, he was Mr. Serious and didn't want to do anything. But then we tried the pony ride and he loved it! After that, he warmed up to it all. He started to feed the goats and pony's and pet the bunnies. It was a great day! Dad and Crystal came along too. It was awesome!

Next up: DISNEYLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We just went yesterday. And it was SO great!!! It was almost like my first time there too! I was so excited. Landon did great! More photos to come soon!

Easter 2009

Well Landon has had a pretty rough month this month! He's been pretty sick for most of it, including Easter! But that didn't stop him from hunting from Easter Eggs! We went to my dad's house for Easter dinner.

Christmas 2008

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. It was awesome. We were also able to visit family in Tehachapi and it was beautiful!! It looked like a winter wonderland! Landon has a ball playing with his cousins Luke & Nick and asks about them every day. This was Landon's first time in the snow and I've never seen a bigger smile on his face when he went sledding. It was so adorable! We definatly need to move out of state and where there are 4 seasons!

Taking a much needed break!!!! I'm so sorry for totally slacking off on this blog. It's funny, when I am so busy and going out of my mind, I seem to keep up with the whole blogging thing and now that this is my "slow time", I've become a slacker! I have LOTS to update on here. Ok, so I'm totally late on posting these, but I've been SO busy catching up from being out of town for our 3 year anniversary for 4 days WITHOUT my laptop!!! (I know, I'm crazy!) Halloween was awesome, except for it being 85 degrees that night! Landon was freakin adorable!! He was a vintage golfer. We went to my mom's house and Nate, the little boy my mom watches and his family came over, as well as my dad & crystal and my best friend Holly and her family. It was great. Here are some adorable photos from the night as well as some from a few weeks ago when we went to the Spaghetti Factory. Enjoy!

Ok, so I about died when I saw that Landon had found this hat and put it on and was totally rockin' it! I had it in a bag to return because when I tried it on him the other day I didn't think it looked cute on him. But he put it on sideways and it looks ADORABLE!!! So I couldn't help myself! Well I can't believe that my baby is already 21 months old! He is becoming a big boy so FAST that I can hardly stand it!! I just bought him this cool tie and rad new jeans so I had to take him out for some photos. The location wasn't what i had in mind, but it worked. Just thought I'd share this adorable photo of Landon. I took it was we were strolling along our neighborhood and I was surprised at how "fall" it looked. I wish California had 4 seasons. I REALLY want to move somewhere that has 4 seasons! Or better yet, I want to live where it is fall year round! I just love the colors of all the trees and the crisp air outside. Poor Landon has been having a tough time the past week. He screams ALL DAY LONG and I've been loosing my mind! He's teething and this is the worst it's ever effected him. He wakes up constantly at night and during his naps and to make it worse, he got the flu & hep B shots tuesday. And on top of that, I think he is getting a mild case of the flu from the shot.
So yesterday I took him outside to ride in his new Diego car from Grandma. He was sporting his brand spankin new shoes! They are black slip on vans with white skulls & crossbones on them-totally Landon's style! Here are some cute ones.......

Well last week Dad & Crystal took Landon and I to the fair. I've been dying to take Landon because I knew he would dig all of the lights and he'd love to people watch as much as I do. So we went at the end of the day and he LOVED it! He kept screaming at the sky buckets in the air and was dying to go on some of the kiddie rides but he was way too small to ride them :(. Anyways, Dad looked GREAT! I hardly recognized him! I'm so happy that he has come all this way and beat the odds and I'm so proud of him that he is finally dedicated to be healthy. This summer has been SO busy that I have fallen so behind on updating this blog. I'm so sorry! But I made it a priority these past 2 days to go through all of the photos from the last 3 months. I can't believe that Landon will already be 19 months old tomorrow! He is so much fun. He's so full of personality, in fact the best way to describe his personality is "Over the top"! The past few weeks we have been going to his Mommy & Me class where he gets to play with other kids, make arts & crafts and have story time with a puppet show (his favorite). Our refrigerator is full of all of his art creations. Next week I'm signing him up for a toddler gymastics class which I'm so excited for! He really needs some place to burn off all of his steem! We'll also continue with his Mommy & Me class this fall.

Sea World!

I can not believe that Landon is already almost 1 1/2! Time really does fly! He has gotten so big and his personality is bigger than ever! He flirts with every single female we come in to contact with and is such a social butterfly. He gets so much attention wherever we go because he is so outgoing and friendly. So Landon was wearing my favorite shirt the other day. it say's "My mom is hot." SO CUTE! My dad got it for him a few months ago and it's already getting too tight for him! But I don't care, he will continue to wear it until he really can't wear it anymore. Well I know that I have totally slacked on updating this blog but it really has been crazy around here. Landon is surprising us everyday. He learns something new almost every day and it just amazes me. He has been walking for a while now and looks like a drunken sailor when he does! Ha! It's hilarious! Last week, he started walking faster, almost in a run, so I know I'm really in for it now! He is just so happy all the time and he often babbles to me like he is telling me a story, which I find so cute. Last Thursday at his 15 month check up the Dr. said that this is the age when toddlers can start pointing out body parts, so we have been working with him on that. And this week, he can point to where my eyes, nose, mouth and ears are at! And he does it all day long.
And yesterday, I took him to the park to let him run around, and I extended my hand to him to help him walk at a faster pace and he pushed my hand away!!!!! It broke my heart! Already, at 15 months, he is showing his strong independent side and wants to do it by himself! Maybe it's just me not wanting him to grow up so fast.

And his absolute FAVORITE thing right now is to go to San Clemente Pier to chase the birds and flirt with everyone! So I took him there Monday and everyone who walked by was saying how cute he is, while he smiles and squeals at everyone one who looks at him! He craves attention and feeds off it. So cute! So check out this slide show of our day at the Pier. There were so many good ones, I had to make a slide show out of it!

Since Landon is so outgoing and literally performs for strangers everywhere I go, I figured, why not give it a shot and submit some photos to an agency and see what happens? Hey, if we can start a college fund for Landon, why not? So please let me know which 3 you think are best and that I should submit to the agency! Thanks!

Update

Landon is still pretty sick, but he's been getting back to normal slowly. And now to make matters worse, he's teething! His molars are coming in he's pretty miserable. Poor baby. Teething has never really bothered him too much, we've been lucky. But his temperature has been slightly elevated (99-100 degrees) and he's been waking up crying, which is SO not normal for him! He always wakes up with a smile on his face, even when he's sick. So it's been a rough couple of days. :(
I did manage to snap a few new shots of him. I'm trying to get some updated ones to send into an agency. Let me know which are your favorites!

Rough Weekend

We had a pretty rough weekend. It all started Friday when I took Landon to the doctor because he came down with a cough, but was totally acting normal and happy. Turns out that Landon had bronchitis and his doctor said that a nebulizer would be delivered to our home later on that afternoon. When I called the company they told me it would be delivered by 9pm. When 9:30pm rolled around and we still haven't heard from anyone, I called and the driver said he didn't know about our delivery! He apologized and promised we'd have it the next morning by 9am. Well, surprise, surprise, 9am on Saturday morning came and went, still no nebulizer. I was getting worried because Landon was totally lethargic, clingy, fussy and had no appetite and on top of that, sounded like he was having trouble breathing. To make a long story short, I called the doctor on call at his pediatricians office only to have a doctor who doesn't even work in the same office, call me back 3 hours later only to tell me that I need to take Landon to the ER. And the stupid nebulizer didn't arrive until 1pm Saturday afternoon!
After almost 7 long hours in the ER, we were finally moved up to CHOC and into a room. Landon's temperature spiked to 103.5 and was miserable. they gave him breathing treatments every 4 hours. We had a miserable time in the hospital. We were moved in to different rooms 3 times and even shared a room with a 6 week old baby that had RSV! We were furious with the hospital and they eventually moved the baby out of our room after 1 night. Thank goodness Landon tested negative for RSV. We ended up staying at CHOC from Saturday thru Tuesday. We're all glad to be home. Landon is eating better and acting more like himself. He's still pretty sick, but feeling a little bit better. We are going back to his doctor tomorrow afternoon for a check up. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything looks better. I'll keep everyone posted.

We had Landon's first birthday party last Saturday at our house instead of the park because it had rained the night before. Everything was awesome. Landon had such a good time playing with all the kids. He hit the pinata, rode his new quad and had a BALL destroying his birthday cake! The photos are hilarious and the video is even better! Yesterday was mellow, we went out to lunch and then gave him his own little birthday cake to destroy. He did OK, (I should have taken it out of the refrigerator a little earlier). I've been dying to post these pictures of Landon!! First of all, how darn cute is he in this pumpkin picture??!?!?!?!? We thought for sure that we'd have to bribe him with something because he wouldn't like to sit in the pumpkin, but he was totally fine with it! In fact I got the shot in less than 5 minutes and he is smiling in all of them! Guess I've trained him well; I'm just hoping he's this good for our Christmas Card shoot!

And about Halloween, I was so bummed that I had to miss his first halloween ever because I had a wedding to shoot-yes someone actually got married on Halloween! But Kyle sent me video of him crawling around and took some of these photos. Check them out......

I decided to take Landon along with me on a photo shoot I had last weekend. Katie watched him while I worked. Landon has never played in the sand before and by the time I was done with my shoot he was covered in sand. He was even eating it. We both had to jump in the shower to wash off when we got home. Wow, it's been a while since I've posted some updated photos of Landon here. He is doing great! He will be 9 months old next week and I can't believe it! He's been crawling for over the past month, and has been pulling himself up on everything! It's so cute to walk in his room in the morning and find him standing up and flashing the biggest smile ever! If you hold his hands he walks pretty fast, so I know I'm in for some trouble soon! Coming up in September, I have 16 weddings to shoot and that's not including any holiday or family shoots. So I was so excited to get away for the weekend 2 weeks ago we went up to Big Bear to relax with Jason, Shelly & the boys for a few days. It was awesome. The weather was great and Landon was so excited to play with his cousins. We went to the Renaissance Festival on Saturday, and that was very interesting. Let's just leave it at that! Our Family Vacation in Puerto Vallarta!

We were so lucky that my parents took us along with them on their vacation to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We had such a great time! Kyle went on an ATV tour and I actually had enough guts to do the Canopy Zip Line Tour in the jungle!! For those of you who don't know what it is, you are straped in a harness and you zip from tree to tree on a cable way too far off the ground! But it was amazing. Unfortunatly, we weren't allowed to bring our cameras so I have no pictures to prove that I actually did it. :( We also met these super nice girls from South Carolina. They weren't staying at our hotel, but they went on every tour we did. They're awesome and I can't wait to hook up with them when we are out in NC. Cousin's Day in Catalina!

Kyle's cousins have created "Cousin's Weekend" where every year, all of the cousins get together for a day or weekend to visit and catch up and see how everyone has grown. This is so cool, it's like a little family reunion every summer! I was especially excited because we had a new member of the family to introduce to everyone. I can't believe that Landon is 6 months old already!! Time really does fly by. He has changed so much! His personality is really starting to show. We went for his 6 month check up last week and he was about 16 lbs, and is now in the 25% percentile! He's making his way up the chart. He finally has rolls on his belly and thighs. I call him my little chunky monkey. He's become a pro at rolling over last month, and he sat up for the 1st time (without any assistance) the other day at the park during his photo shoot! We just started him on some baby food. He LOVES applesauce! He's been teething lately, so I'm expecting his first tooth anytime now. Landon is doing great health wise also, and we couldn't be happier. And now we're getting ready for our first vacation as a family! We're going to Puerto Vallarta next weekend with my parents. We're so excited! So be sure to check back to see some photos from our trip. There will be tons I'm sure. I've got the cutest board shorts for Landon, he's going to be a stud on the beach!

Walks on the Beach

Every night when Kyle gets home, he takes Landon on a walk along the beach for some Landon & Daddy time. And they both look forward to it everyday. And while they are out, it's my time to cook dinner, clean up and do all the stuff I wasn't able to finish during the day. But Friday night I decided that dinner can wait and I went along. I know I've been totally lagging on getting new photos up! It's been a month and a half since I've posted last and I need to catch up. Things have been crazy! Landon is now 5 months old and is changing so much! He just had his first belly laugh the other night. It was so cute. He loves it when I sing and dance to him. His favorite songs are "Hot Diggity Dog" and "The Itsy Bitsy Spider". He is just such a happy baby. We also got his hearing aids a few weeks ago. It's been an adjustment, but we can see a difference. Just the first night home, he watched Baby Mozart from start to finish, totally in to it. He LOVES to watch the Baby Mozart videos. Anyway, here are some photos from Easter weekend up in Tehachapi visiting his cousins Luke & Nick.

Kyle's work has a box at Anaheim Stadium and we always get free tickets to see concerts and hockey games. We took Landon along because his best buddy, Noah was going too. We even put them in their matching cool Tatoo t shirts. How cute are they??? I just love Landon's expression, looking up at Noah. And I love the one of Noah trying to steal Landon's binky! Ha! He thinks that Landon is a doll! So cute!

Here are a few from our first family photo shoot. The day was a disaster! I am so bummed that I never got the chance to take the adorable "newborn" photos like I do for all of my clients! The best time to do those photos are when they are brand new, like a few days or a week old. After that, they don't "bend" as brand new babies do. By the time we got him home from the NICU, he was way too old for those kind of photos. BUMMER!!

It's been about a month since my last entry. Things have been so crazy, I hardly have the time anymore to update our blog. Things have been going great. Landon is 10 lbs and is 12 weeks old now! He is such a happy baby! He coos and smiles all day and is such a joy to have. He went for his follow up appt. with his Neurologist and it went great-we don't have to go back to that Dr. ever again!!!!!! We are so relieved! Also, Landon has started seeing my chiropractor to help with his hearing. Apparently, Chiropractors started out by helping people with hearing problems. So we will continue to take Landon to see him in addition to his hearing aids. We don't have his aids yet. They are super expensive-$1000-$3000 PER EAR!!! So, we are trying to get assistance from the state, but its going to take a bit longer than we wanted. That is all of the updates I can think of. I have quite a few photos to share from over the past month, so enjoy!

I can't believe that Landon is already 2 months old! He's getting so big. He weighed just under 8 lbs. on wednesday at his last Dr. appt., so I'm sure he's hit the 8 lb. mark by now. He's smiling more and more each day and has started cooing too. He's just so darn cute! Enjoy!

Sorry it's been a while

I know I've been lagging on this blog thing. We've just been so busy with all of Landon's Dr. appointments and everything else that has been going on. A bit of an update for everyone: Landon now weighs at least 8lbs!! He's growing so much. He's also started smiling the last week or so at least once a day. It's so cute! He totally has dimples, which makes it even cuter! He turns 8 weeks old on Wednesday the 28th. I can't believe it's gone by so fast! On a bit of a sadder note, we found out that Landon has mild hearing loss. He had extensive screening tests this past week which confirmed that he has hearing loss in his inner ear, which is better than it being in his brain or nerve. He can hear at all levels, but when you get down to the lower sounds, like a whisper, he can hear it but it sounds muffled. So he will need the hearing aids ASAP and in both ears. Because a baby's brain is like a sponge, its crucial that he gets the aids now so he wont have any developmental delays and can get the most out of his hearing. Landon can hear us when we talk to him, but if we whisper or are talking to him from another room, we sound muffled. We visit the Hematologist on Wednesday, so we're crossing our fingers that he won't need a blood transfusion! That's all he needs after all that he's already gone through.

Our nephews Luke & Nick came down to meet Landon last weekend. Luke was SO excited to hold Landon!! He says that he just loves baby Landon so much! It was so cute. Landon put on quite a show when I was telling them about his "poo face" that he makes every time he is making a dirty diaper. Landon has us all cracking up so hard we had tears running down our face! (you'll see the photo below).
Update: Landon now weighs 6lbs, 4 oz!!! And he's grown to 19 3/4 inches. The good news is that for right now, he does not need a blood transfusion and the Dr. thinks he probably won't need one. So that was such a relief! But the bad news is that he got circumcised yesterday, so he's not feeling too hot. Poor guy. I feel so bad for him. But he's a tough little guy and is doing great!

Landon's best little buddy, Noah came over yesterday to visit. He thought Landon was a little doll! He kept wanting to stick his hand in his mouth! It was so cute. Landon was finally discharged from the NICU late Monday night. We're SO excited that he's finally home! He's doing great. He's eating a lot. He's up to 55 cc's! (He left the hospital needing to eat a minimum of 40 cc's) It was rough the first few days home, but it's gotten better. I think he's finally getting used to his new surroundings. As for Mom & Dad, we're exhausted!!!! We knew we were going to be tired when he came home, but it's all worth it! Here are some updated photos of my little small fry!

Great News!

Today Landon inhaled his ENTIRE bottle of 40cc's (and sometimes a little more) at his 2:30pm, 5:30pm and 8:30pm feedings today!!! We're so proud of him and we're praying that this if finally a sign that this is his turning point so he can come home soon. Either way, this is a huge improvement! We've both seen a big improvement over the past 3 days in his feedings. He's been able to take a minimum of 20cc's at every feeding for the last 24+ hours. And today, the feedings that he finished his whole bottle, he's waken up on his own, before his feeding time, ready to eat-and that's a big improvement on its own. He's also gained 1 oz. a day for the last 2 days straight, which is great! He hasn't been gaining weight, and the nurses were starting to get concerned. He is also very anemic and very close to getting a blood transfusion. We're hoping that it doesn't come to that, but we will know more on Monday when they check his levels again.
Here are some photos I took of him today. I can already see how much his face has changed and he's only 16 days old! All the nurses comment on his little "faux hawk", so I was so excited to finally put him in one of his super cool outfits that his Aunt Katie made for him. It's perfect because it says: "Lil' PUNK". SO FREAKIN' CUTE!!!! Check out all his little expressions!

Good news! On Tuesday, he inhaled a full bottle of 40 cc's (what he needs to do to come home) in only 20 minutes at one feeding and he did it again this morning for Dad! Unfortunately, he needs to do this at every feeding for a minimum of 24 hours with out any help from his feeding tube. So we know he can do it, it's just a matter of time. We've defiantly seen a difference in him over the past few days and have seen improvement. Also, an Occupational Therapist met with me today when I was feeding him to observe and help with his feedings and she said that we're doing everything correctly and that he's doing great and has the whole suck/swallow thing down. The only thing he needs to learn is how to take a whole 40 cc's in one feed consistently. She thinks it will only be a matter of days, but I'm not holding my breath. Landon will decide on when he's ready. I have a talk with him every day to remind him of how cool his room is here at home and that he needs to come see it! Keep checking back here; I'll be posting some more photos soon!

I forgot to mention in my last post that his MRI he had done on Thursday came back normal. So we're very relieved! He now has thrush from the antibiotics he was on earlier this week, but it's already starting to go away. I'm hoping that after it clears, he'll start doing good on his feedings again so he can come home!

Baby Landon Arrives!

Our son, Landon Thomas McEachran, was born Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at noon. He was 4 lbs, 14 oz. and 17 inches. It was an easy labor-thank goodness!! I went from 2cm to 10cm in 1 hour and he was born in 7 minutes with only 3 pushes!! Thank goodness I had an epidural, so I didn't feel any pain. But poor little Landon has had a rough start though. He's only 9 days old and is still in the NICU. Most of you know the emotional roller coaster we've been on lately, so I'll only give the most current update. He's no longer in an incubator and his IV FINALLY came out today! I'm so glad the poor little guy doesn't have to be poked anymore. He has had his IV moved in at least 7 different places-including his head!! He's bruised all over his body, but it's such a relief that his IV is out! He only has his feeding tube in him. His only hurdle left is to be able to nipple feed 40cc's without any help from his feeding tube. Today, he did finish 37cc's from the bottle once, but the other feedings he's had to rely on the feeding tube to get the rest. So we just take it day by day. So hopefully he'll be able to come home soon. We'll keep you posted. Here are some photos of him and believe me, there will be many more to come!

Hi everyone! I have created this blog to update everyone on Landon's progress. I was already planning on starting a blog just to post recent photos of him, since you all know Landon will be the most photographed baby ever! But this way, all of our family and friends can just check this blog out whenever they want to know what the latest buzz is with Landon (and hopefully Kyle and I can cut down some of our phone calls to everyone too!)
